Darwin's Choice Card Game is fully dedicated to the concept of evolution.
The game mechanics behind Darwin's Choice require tactical/strategic thinking and give you a good understanding of evolution. But first and foremost, it is great fun.
Create your own species and guide them through the ever-changing eras.
The core elements of Darwin's Choice Card Game are the biomes and the animal cards. All biomes have an individual food supply and different requirements to fulfil.
The objective of each player is to create animal species that are as optimally adapted as possible. Only these can obtain enough food for themselves in the biomes, which is crucial for their survival.
Between the eras played, biome changes and effects of Event Cards transform the prevailing conditions. Using sophisticated mutations, players can improve already established animal species or save endangered species from extinction.
Next to mutations, players may also move their animals species to other biomes to ensure their survival or even establish the species at the top of the food chain.
Throughout the game, players try to collect as many Darwin Points as possible with their most adaptable and strongest animal species. But it's important to stay focused until the very end. If a species dies out, then all but one of the Darwin Points it obtained are lost.
Darwin's Encyclopedia is a hardcover, 172 Pages, stand-alone animal encyclopedia that you can enjoy even if you don't own the related games.
The encyclopedia provides knowledge about all animal species included in Darwin's Choice and its expansion (exception: dinosaurs / prehistoric species).
Darwin's Encyclopedia combines clear design, hand-drawn illustrations and well-written text to create a great reading experience.
Darwin's Encyclopedia is intended to introduce readers to the fascinating world of animals. This knowledge is central, because it increases the awareness towards the wonderful fauna on our planet, which is worth preserving. In addition to very popular animals such as the Polar bear, Tiger, Hippopotamus, etc., this encyclopedia also deliberately includes many unknown species that have become specialists in their habitat through perfect adaptation. Many of the presented species are endangered or on the edge of extinction. This encyclopedia wants to draw attention to them, because you can only love what you know, and only protect what you love.
