In this stand-alone version of Black Orchestra, players experience the familiar tension and dread but in about half the time of the original. Gameplay has been streamlined even as new strategic elements have been added. In this version the conspirators must focus on assassinating Hitler with explosives, completing Operation Valkyrie. This can be accomplished in a number of ways, with the Gestapo always close at hand to pull you in for questioning. The game ends either when you successfully defeat Hitler or when the Gestapo collect enough evidence to have you tried for treason and executed. In Everdell Duo, you will either compete against your single opponent, or play solo or cooperatively with another player, to earn the most points. You will accomplish this by placing workers to gather resources, then using those resources to play cards face up in front of you, creating your own woodland city.
Cards may be played from your hand, or from the face up area on the board called the Meadow. However, only cards that are touching the Sun or Moon token may be played from the Meadow, and players will be moving these tokens each time they perform a turn. Therefore, planning and timing for which cards you play is critical.
Each game there will be Events that you are trying to achieve. The requirements for these Events will be different from game to game, making certain cards and combinations more important to pursue.
The game lasts for 4 seasons. After that, players add up their scores to determine the winner. If you are playing cooperatively, check the requirements for the chapter you are playing to see if you have won.
In the campaign, each player has their own hand of cards and their own supply of resources, but they are building one city together. You cannot tell the other player which cards you have in hand, but you can tell them the type of cards, and you can say which resources you would really like to have. This is important, because there is a system for sharing with your partner, but it is limited. In this way, it is critical for the players to work together and discuss their actions, leading to a game that feels very cooperative and rewarding when you work as a team. But if you don't have a partner to play with, the campaign can be played solo as well.
To pack even more gameplay into this little box, we added a Challenge mode, which can be played solo or cooperatively, and presents you with an artificial opponent to face and try to beat, but also has 10 different achievements at varied difficulty to try to accomplish, such as winning with no green Production cards in your city.
Everdell leaps to life! With gorgeous illustrations from Andrew Bosley and never-before-seen lore written by James A. Wilson himself, there's so much more Everdell to see inside these pages. Learn of the humble critters who make their homes beneath the boughs of the Ever Tree, or those undaunted creatures who seek adventure into the great unknown. Many remarkable stories are contained within this tome, so pull up a chair, settle in beside the fire, and immerse yourself in the Tales from the Green Acorn hardcover book!

Silverfrost is the next standalone edge of the map series of Everdell.
Beyond the snow-capped Spirecrest mountains to the south of Everdell Valley, lies the bold country of Silverfrost.
It is your task to build and maintain a city in this challenging landscape. You must clear the piling snow, burn the fires to keep your citizens warm and prosperous, and complete important quests for the Ranger's Guild.
In Silverfrost, you send critter workers to various Locations on the board, cards, or the mountain to gather resources and activate unique effects. You use these resources to play cards face up in front of you, forming your own city. Each turn, you take 1 of 3 possible actions - Place a worker, Play a card, or Prepare for the next season.
You may place 1 of your workers on any Basic Location, Red Destination card in your city or opponent's cities, the Forge, the Hot Springs, or a mountaintop Beacon, so long as it is not blocked by Snow or another worker. You then claim the listed resources or perform the action. If there is Snow at the location, you must first spend a Fire resource to clear the snow pile. If you use your unique Ranger worker, you can visit an occupied location, or gain a Fire resource if visiting a location alone.
To play a card, you must pay the listed cost of resources. If it is a Critter, you may instead play it for free by using 1 of your 2 Chimneys, so long as you have the necessary Fire to light it. Cards may be played either from your hand, or from the area of face-up cards on the board known as the Valley. Nearly all of the cards in Silverfrost feature new and powerful abilities, offering a huge variety of strategic depth and combos to explore.
If all of your workers are deployed, you may prepare for the next season by bringing back all of your workers, gaining a new worker, and performing the action described for the following season, introducing new snowfall to the board and to your city, as well as other challenges. A player is finished when they have played through the last season (Spring) and cannot perform any more actions. After all players have finished, the player with the most points is the winner.
