Vikings Gone Wild is a deck-building, resource management game based on the online real-time strategy game. Players can buy production cards that sit in front of them, tableau-style, and produce resources each round. They can also buy storage cards to store excess resources for subsequent rounds.
Alternatively, they can buy attack or defence cards that enter their discard pile like a normal deck builder to be drawn in subsequent rounds. Attack cards can be played against opponents tableau cards, if the attack value beats the defence value of the card you score victory points! If a player has defence cards in their hand, they can play them to increase the defence of their building. If they successfully defend then they will score points!
Unusually for a deck builder, at the end of your turn you do not discard the cards you played or still have in your hand until all players have had their turn. By keeping cards in hand, you can bluff you opponents into thinking you have defence cards to play, discouraging attacks against you. Certain cards also allow you to copy a card played by an opponent this round.
