Zpocalypse is a survival board game set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. Two to four players start in a basement/fallout shelter which can lead out to several base locations or even through the tunnels to sewer grates throughout the transformable board. The survivors are trying to make it day to day in a world torn apart from the walking dead.
As in any survival game, one needs food, guns, ammo, and more. Players go out into the wasteland and scavenge for supplies, or perhaps to find a new gun or melee weapon to fend off the next zombie attack. In addition to gathering supplies, each player forms and controls his own squad ? and each squad works to fortify the bases. Your walls and barbed wire won?t hold the dead for long, however, and they?re getting hungry.
Characters receive victory points for killing zombies, building defenses, and successfully completing goals. Victory points show who is soldiering on the best in this wasteland. The final tally of points determines the winner. Victory points also act as experience points for leveling up a character.
The game combines combat, tactics, resource collecting, character development, team play, and strategy towards the goal of surviving in the Zpocalypse!
The adapter set includes 8 specifically cut tiles which allow you to combine front and back sides of existing Zpocalypse tiles in the same game. In addition there are 8 flat sided adapters, which allow you to use Zpocalypse tiles with non GreenBrier games tiles for your own custom zombie / wasteland themed games. The 8 double sided Zpocalypse tiles feature a Road on one side and Toxic River on the other.
Aftermath: Fortifications is a collection of miniatures specifically designed to work with the board game Zpocalypse, as well as games using 25-28mm scale miniatures. The detail in the set shows how dire an apocalyptic setting can be. In order to make the mountain of sandbags, tires, and wood with spikes, someone had to lend a hand...or a foot. Strapped together with razor wire, the former iron gate mixed with mattresses and cement blocks is as solid as you can get in the badlands of Zpocalypse. So you might as well take the tires, add some spikes and corrugated metal and wrap the whole thing with the thickest chain you can find. Use it to keep your unhappy new home cozy. These fortifications are just a taste of what you will find inside.
Aftermath: Alpha Pack is a collection of miniature Survivors specifically designed to work with the board game Zpocalypse, as well as games using 25-28mm scale miniatures. New characters, scenarios and weapons cards bring a whole new set of challenges and adventures to the world of Zpocalypse. Would being in control of a military robot interest you? Or why not become a self-contained wrecking crew using a giant metal ball and chain? That is just a taste of the new content.
Aftermath: Beta Pack is a collection of miniature Survivors specifically designed to work with the board game Zpocalypse, as well as games using 25-28mm scale miniatures. New characters, scenarios and weapons cards bring a whole new set of challenges and adventures to the world of Zpocalypse. How would you like to bring Squad members back from the dead? Or use a sniper rifle that has unlimited range and can shoot through walls? That is just a taste of the exciting new content.
8 Glow In The Dark d6 Dice for Zpocalypse, a Z replaces the 6 on each.
Once places of healing and refuge, the hospitals and FEMA camps were possibly hit the worst. People with injuries and illnesses were unable to defend themselves from either the virus or the biters. They became a sea of undead almost instantly. These locations are red zones, off limits to everyone except the most desperate and the most adventurous. Those who dare to navigate them will find medicine and equipment. But will the zombies stay dormant? Or will your squad awaken their fury?
Where Zpocalypse introduced the mechanics of Quick Play Rules with the "Day Zero" scenario, Zmergency masters the Quick Play mechanic. The Quick Play scenario is a Combat Phase only game. These scenarios provide a shortened game play experience for those looking for some quick and dirty combat. Additionally, in Zmergency the map expands differently than in the Main Game. You start with a single tile determined by the scenario you choose. On your turn you may "walk off" of the board and place a new tile. Unlike Zpocalypse, where players roll to determine how many zombies spawn on that tile, Zmergency rules use the Encounter Cards deck.
